Word Scrambler
Turn words into jumbles — for a puzzle, a worksheet, or a game to set someone else.
About the word scrambler
This is the unscrambler run backwards: give it real words and it mixes the letters of each one. Useful for building a puzzle rather than solving one — a worksheet, a party game, a quiz round.
Every scramble is checked against the original, so a word never comes back unchanged. A short word shuffled at random lands on itself surprisingly often, which is what makes some scramblers look broken.
Examples
- puzzle
- becomes something like PULZEZ
- cat, dog, bird
- scrambles each word separately
- a whole spelling list
- paste up to 50 words at once
Tips
- Separate words with spaces, commas or new lines — all three work, so you can paste a list straight from a document.
- Use the copy button to take the whole set as plain text, one per line, ready to drop into a worksheet.
- A word made of one repeated letter cannot be scrambled and is returned as-is.
Common questions
Is the scramble different every time?
Yes. Reload and you get a new arrangement of the same letters.
Can I scramble a whole sentence?
Each word is scrambled on its own and the order is kept, so the sentence stays readable as a structure while every word is jumbled.
